Happy 2012!

I know it's already two weeks into the new year and I'm just getting around to saying it. It was a great holiday season for my family and I, and it's taking me some time to try and get back to normal. I'm looking forward to the new year. I'm going to be spending a little more time traveling with my husband and kids and am looking forward to all the beautiful photos that brings.

January and February are usually very quiet for me so I'm going to be posting a lot from the late summer and fall I never got around to. I hope you enjoy it.

Again, Happy New Year from me. Here's hoping it's even better than 2011!

Baby Bennet - 7 Days New

I knew I was going to love this session from the moment I heard his name, Bennett Michael Tennison. He's destined to do something great with a name like that. We had a great session at this family's beautiful condo. It was a photographers dream with floor to ceiling windows. Even on the cloudy that we had I got some great shots of this little guy. Congratulations Crystal and Mike, he's a beautiful baby.

Backyard Tea Party

I have been planning this session for a while now. I searched down the table and chairs, a table cloth and even and tea set and cups. I wanted everything to match my daughter. I had promised her the session that morning and by mid afternoon had nothing ready, or energy to do it. But once you promise a three year old something it has to be done, as many parents will understand. So, I did it. Everything was last minute and not how I had planned, but I loved it! I can't wait to get these printed and in her room. Now my only problem is that she want's to do it again. Next spring I will be offering Tea Party themed sessions for anyone interested.

She even got her older brother to sit in for a few shots with the promise of a few mini cupcakes.

And for some real smiles, I had her oldest brother behind me doing what we call the "Monkey Dance". Works every time.

I have photographed this wonderful a few times now and I love seeing this beautiful little girl grow. I can only imagine how much more fun she'll be in the future.

This beautiful little three year old was just a doll for her session. Her mom had forewarned me that she might be a little difficult and she ended just being perfect. I hope I get to photograph her again in the future.

Senior Class of 2010 - Tommy

This good looking young man gave only about an hour in between class and football practice to get some much needed senior photos. We made it work and all on my block no less. Congratulations Tommy your friends and family are all very proud to see you graduating this year.

I absolutely adore this sweet family. I've been taking their photos for a while and I must say that their kids are just beautiful. Raeken was all smiles. Big sister Jersey was having a hard day, between mosquitos and the heat, but we did our best. You will see more of this family in the future.

I had a great time with this little girl. Just two years old and she has a mind of her own and makes sure to say it. Thanks Mary and Kevin for coming out and letting me get to know Lindsay a little.

Baby Aleck - 5 Days New

This little guy was born almost three weeks early. We were suppose to be doing a maternity session and instead we did a newborn session. He truly was a little peanut weighing in at just 5.8 lbs. He was such a good little guy to work with. He slept almost the entire time. Congratulations Yaz and Alex. He's perfect.

These two little kids were so well behaved. Grace wasn't willing to give too many smiles but we still managed to get a few. I love photographing children and getting to know their character. Every child can make you smile if you just listen to what they have to say for a while, and Hudson had me smiling.

My little man is 6 today. It goes by so quickly. He's the one who makes sure to tell me at least once a day that he loves me. I love him too. It's a happy sad moment for me to see him getting big.

Raeken - 1 Week New

Welcome Raeken! She is such a doll. It took us a while to get her to sleep, and she didn't want to be moved much after that, but we managed to get a few good shots. Newborns are always so much fun.

I have to give Raeken's Grandma a big thank you for this awesome basket. It was borrowed from her home for this session and then given to me. I love it! It's not your everyday basket, and little Raeken fit so perfectly in it. I can't wait until I get to use it again.

And of course we have big sister Jersey. Always a cutie!

I always love shooting this family. They're pretty much up for anything, and have the most beautiful daughter. They braved the Minnesota January cold with me to get a few shots. Thanks guys!

Baby number two was on the way. She really has the most beautiful belly you could have. By the way, it's a girl!

Photo A Day-February 2011

I've decided that I will try a photo a day for the month of February to try and avoid the winter blues here in Minnesota. This is right about the time of year that the too cold temps are just too much to handle. All shots will be black and white and are meant to represent small moments in my everyday life with my kids. After all, they are the ones who really inspire me to pull out my camera.

This family is a wonderful friend of mine. I've photographed them a few times and always love it. They have the most beautiful little girl, Jersey. Her eyes are stunning. I can't wait to meet her little sister that is on the way come February. You'll see many more pictures of this family.

I took my daughter along with me that morning. I had a hard time keeping Jersey's attention with Megan around, but they were getting along great. They quickly became best friends.
